Trojan's IP phone system combines innovation and advanced features with reliability and quality. Our IP phone systems give you reliable communications for your current business telephone needs and will carry you forward to your future requirements.
IP phone technology is hugely flexible and can be provided as a fully hosted IP solution, as a non-hosted IP solution or as a hybrid solution overlaying IP technology with your 'traditional' business telephone system.
One of the biggest benefits of an IP phone system is the ability to port numbers anywhere in the UK. If your business moves sites or even moves to the other end of the country, you can keep your business telephone number.
With an IP phone system, the system goes through a router over a private internet connection. This ensures quality and security. It provides a multitude of features including:
- Voice mail
- Voice recording
- Presence management
- Auto attendant
- Remote access and control
- Call divert anywhere in the UK including mobiles.
It works by converting the voice call into data and sending it along a wire to a server. When it reconnects at the other site it is converted back to a voice call so that two people can talk to one another.
Hosted IP Phone System
With a hosted IP phone system (also referred to as Hosted PBX) there is no need for a telephone system on your premises. Users simply need a high speed internet service such as broadband and an IP phone. Calls are routed through our server giving you the features and benefits of an office PBX without the hardware and maintenance costs.
Benefit from hosted IP at remote locations by seamlessly integrating your multi-site environments under a single unified dial plan. With an IP phone solution you can have an international presence via a diverse range of available incoming numbers. By providing geographic numbers for major UK towns and cities you can present a national base to your customers from one single fixed location.
For home workers and virtual call centres a hosted IP phone system is the perfect solution to bring all remote locations together as one. It is also the ideal solution for short-term projects such as construction sites, marketing suites
Non-hosted IP Phone System
A non-hosted IP Phone System (also referred to as IP PBX) benefits from all the advanced features and benefits of a hosted system but calls are routed through a local server installed at your premises. It’s ideal when bandwidth is at a premium relative to the call traffic placed upon it by keeping your internal calls and processing away from your external bandwidth.
If your organisation has more internal extensions than external calls, you would benefit from a non-hosted IP PBX solution.
Hybrid IP Phone System
A hybrid IP Phone System is also a non-hosted solution and utilises traditional telephone lines eg ISDN or analogue, has the flexibility of allowing you to connect analogue extensions and fax machines whilst giving you the benefits of a feature rich IP platform and the reassurance of traditional lines. Using a hybrid IP phone solution enables the gradual migration to a completely VoIP based telephony environment and voice messaging system.
SIP/IAX Trunks
SIP trunks or IAX trunks allow traditional existing phone installations to use Voice over internet for discounted calls, site to site transfers and geographic call delivery. Many traditional type PBXs can be connected directly or indirectly via an adaptor to Trojan VOIP Trunks.

VOIP Phones
A VOIP phone system goes through a computer or telephone system and is a shared internet connection. For smaller businesses this solution can work well but because the connection is shared or public, the quality of the call and call security can be affected.
